A Classic Alternative Rock Station

Scott Bright

Scott Bright was a teenager in Somerset County when he discovered XX.  The FM signal bounced off the mountain at nearby Seven Springs and landed in his dual cassette boom box, introducing him to music that made him realize he wasn’t alone in his unique tastes.  The songs and artists he discovered on XX remain his faves to this day.

Scott noodled around the DJ booth at the University of Pittsburgh (won the coveted, though mostly forgotten, “Best Show” award on WUPJ), and co-hosted a show on WFWM, Frostburg, Md., in the early 90's.
Later, working as a newspaper editor led to a career in labor union communications and message training, which led back to music.
In 2014, Scott became senior copywriter at music streaming service Rdio and now holds the same position at Pandora.
2015 also found Scott's return to the microphone, hosting his vinyl-only show on Radio Valencia in San Francisco, playing everything from classic alternative to old-timey jazz, 70's singer-songwriter tracks, and current indie rock and electronic music.

In addition to joining XX Radio in October, Scott will greet 2016 with a brand new weekly show Sunday mornings on San Francisco’s famous Mutiny Radio.
Scott's hobbies include collecting and listening to vinyl, exploring the Bay Area, and trying (meeting with marginal success) to finish a play, two novels, and a children’s book.  Whew!
